I had to pay homage to my city of Chicago’s bid for the Olympics. So many of my buddies are on their way to Copenhagen and ready to report back to A Fashionable Life about what Mrs. Obama will be wearing. Here is she is wearing her fav and ours, Jason Wu with a killer pearl Erickson Beamon necklace. The strong necklace remains a big part of her wardrobe statement.

We were so lucky to have Yigal call in from the George V in Paris where he is staying for Fashion Week.  He shared  a little about his vision for Spring 2010 (which we just saw at NY Fashion Week) and his training route (he will be running in the NYC marathon this November) while in Paris.  Radio does not do this gorgeous man justice since his chiseled features aren’t too shabby!  But his fluent French and Isreali accent were JUST fine. We were thrilled to have the opportunity to catch up with this talented designer. Thanks, Yigal!!!

Greg Lauren is Ralph Lauren’s nephew. Clothes have had a lot to do with the way he sees the world and in his newly opened exhibit (thru Nov. 1) ALTERATION (28 Wooster Street NYC) Greg explores the role clothing plays in defining the man, his expectations and dreams. Greg constructed all his paper clothes by using his mother’s old sewing machine. Greg is married to actress Elizabeth Berkley (Saved By The Bell). This man has some talent and has chosen to remain an artist with no interest in joining the family business. Judging by his sewing technique, his genes are RL genes!!!

Most of my memorable “sexy” fashion moments have been tied in with D&G: Dolce & Gabbana. The dresses and suits that I have owned which have had the Dolce & Gabbana label have played best supporting outfit to memorable nights for as long as I can remember.  Lately, the guys have gotten a little less “hard edge” sexy and a little more romantic. Romance is great, but romance that contains hot sex scenes gets top marks. Spring 2010 gets our award for showing that pretty sexy go together!

Pittsburgh should be proud. Aside from being the birthplace of my partner Jayne Chase, this city has raised it’s fashionable quotient to a WHOLE other level. As far as I am concerned, Jackie kennedy Onassis and Carla Bruni define the essence of American style and French ce certain quelque chose. Jackie, obsessed with all things French, would be as smitten with Mrs Sarkozy as anyone. Thank you, Carla for raising the bar a few notches higher. It’s always good to have something to strive towards!!!

Jill Sander- the name- suggests structured city dressing. The framework being the need to work within the jacket with pants or a skirt and a dress that the jacket can also be warn over lifestyle. A sophisticated uniform with the benefit of looking perfectly beautiful for meetings during the day and a night out feeling sensual but restrained.

There has been talk about whether Jill Sander will make it through these turbulant economic times in the fashion industry. Spring for Rafe Simmons the designer behind the Jill Sander label,  supported the fact that every working woman  (as  CoCo Channel’s legacy has shown)), has to have a few great jackets to fullfill  the needs of a busy womans life. He did not dissappoint.  Some of his jackets (shown open and accessorized with a belt Michelle Obama style) are simply the type of jacket you would go back to season after season.

OR….Miucca’s take on the busy lives women (or the Prada customer) lead. The theme at the Prada Spring 2010 show was the beach with a City edge. There was a crisp, edgy feeling to the graphite gray shorts and cropped jackets. The prints appeared in pale colors and graphics with photos of beach scenes and umbrellas. I adore this elongated gray jacket!  If you break the collection down there are great jackets and layering pieces that provide the structure for a divinely modern work/out to dinner look. As for the beach?  Not so much.

Roberto Cavalli’s clothes are HOT.  OK, maybe not for anyone who isn’t willing to show what they’ve got. Cavalli’s Gorgeous styling and attention to “cool” in a Fashionably Italian way is not just limited to clothes. In November, Robertocavalli.com and YOOX are partnering to create an online store where all of Cavalli’s offerings (from sunglasses to menswear and underwear) will be available and ready to be shipped to the US of A!!!

I know this post will make Jen so happy. She loves Tom Ford and blushes each time she has to interview him on the red carpet! That said, she will be thrilled to learn that he is coming out with his own womenwears line! The man who has the midas touch from fragrance to films, is reportedly raising money now during London Fashion Week. His vision is sheer perfection so we will wait and wait for a gift from this fashionable god!

Sasha Charnin Morrison, Fashion Director at US WEEKLY graced our fashionable airwaves this morning. Sasha is a veteran of the fashion industry. Her mastery of Yiddish is also quite impressive !  Sasha’s great taste and humorous and educated approach to fashion makes US WEEKLY’s pages a MUST for all of US. This week’s Emmy photos and coverage is FASHIONABLY, FIRST RATE!!!
